Studio Riggs is now Morrison Gates

Happy New Year! This year, we are excited to announce a significant milestone in our company’s journey. Today, we unveil our new brand identity as Morrison Gates – a change that I feel reflects the essence of our values and the vision that drives our work.

Around here, we have always believed that good interior design has the power to bring families closer together. We recognize that homes are not just physical spaces but sanctuaries where memories are created and shared, and our commitment to fostering these relationships is the driving force behind every project we undertake.

As the years have gone on, we began to feel that those values just weren’t reflected in the Studio Riggs brand identity.

There were a few reasons for this – while calling ourselves a ‘studio’ resonated for me personally as a creative person, it didn’t feel very approachable and wasn’t necessarily an intuitive connection for our clients. And while this business started as a one-woman show, I also felt that ‘Studio Riggs’ was not broad enough or inclusive of the various team members who have joined us along the way.

So, we’ve decided to move forward as Morrison Gates, which is a combination of the maiden names of both of my grandmothers. These are the ladies who taught me everything I know about style and taste. From how to tease your hair like a proper Texan, to how to hang art and choose the right rug for a room. I grew up picking paint swatches and sitting in nail salons with these women, watching the unique ways that each of them created their own beautiful life. They have always been, and continue to be, one of my biggest sources of inspiration.

I love that this new name for our company is still intensely personal, and speaks to our values of legacy and family, without feeling aloof or inhuman.

Our rebranding represents our continued commitment to delivering exceptional design that stands the test of time. Just as our matriarchs left a lasting legacy, we aim to create interiors that will be cherished and enjoyed by families for generations to come.
